1985 - NEK is founded
NEK is founded by Niels Erik and his brother Kalle. Production takes place in private garage.
1987 - NEK moves to a new factory
NEK moves to Kornmarken 17 to a new factory of 385 m2.
1990 - NEK is shared into 2
Niels Erik and Kalle share the company and Niels Erik takes over the NEK. There are 3 employees.
1992 - NEK extends
NEK extends again. The company is now on 1200m2.
1995 - NEK has grown to 20 employees.

1997 - NEK extends again
NEK extends again, so the company is now on 2000m2.
2000 - NEK has now grown to 27 employees.

2002 - NEK extends
NEK extends, so the company is now on 2400m2
2003 - First 5-axis Hermle milling maschine
NEK buys the first 5-axis Hermle milling maschine.
2003 - NEK exhibiting at Hi-fair
NEK exhibiting at Hi-fair.
2005 - NEK has grown to 45 employees at its factory in Billund
NEK has grown to 45 employees at its factory in Billund
2009 - First robotic cell for NEK
NEK buys the first robotic cell for the production of tool parts and electrodes.
2010 - NEK expands with new production hall of 825m2
NEK expands with new production hall. The company is now on 3200m2.
2010 - 4 and 5 axis milling machines from Heller to NEK
The first of 2, 4-5 axis milling machines from Heller arrives in December.
The machines are part of a major new robot controlled manufacturing cell with 21 pallets.
2015 - 30th anniversary
NEK has 30 years anniversary. It is celebrated with reception where the new production building is presented.
